Masala dosa was crispy, idlis soft, vada crunchy, and sambar delicious - topped off with perfect filter coffee. Great spot for authentic South Indian flavours!

The best dosa you will ever eat in Melbourne. I have been in Australia for 8 years and trust me this is the best dosa I have ever eaten in these 8 years in Australia. The neer dosa is just BOMB! We also had tatte idli which was so fluffy. Omg Then we had the vada which was crispy from outside and ultra soft from inside. Finally we had the mysore masala dosa! Let me tell you their regular dosa is benne dosa… We ate till our hearts were content, which was definitely more than our belly could handle!

Authentic tasting Bengaluru and Karnataka cuisine. Friendly staff. Freshly made food including idlis. So may take a bit for idlis to be served. Loved the Mysore masala dosa, Onion dosa, Ragi and Rava idli. Feels like to be in Bengaluru for a moment. Definitely reccomended.

The food was very nice. The service was delightful. The staff were very friendly and often checked on us if we needed anything. Food is catchy to the eye. The food gives our taste buds a flavour that brings back authentic nostalgia from Bangalore. Large seating area. Overall, I would recommend this place for true Bengalurians who would like a taste of mini Bengaluru in Australia.

Tucked away in Truganina is a hidden gem serving up a slice of authentic Karnataka cuisine that deserves way more attention. The sambar tastes just like it does back home—truly the first spot in Melbourne (maybe even Australia) where I’ve had such an authentic experience. The chutney hits the perfect balance of coconut, coriander, and green chili—fresh and flavorful. The idlis are soft, fluffy, and steamed to perfection. The bisibelebath arrived piping hot, with a beautifully balanced tang and rich aroma that instantly took me back to my childhood. And the Mangalore buns? Absolutely delicious—especially when paired with that chutney. Everything we ordered was delicious and had an authentic tiffin room food taste that we grew up savoring. The staff are friendly and very enthusiastic and took good care of us. I would highly recommend this place if you are craving for some authentic Karnataka food.

My recent visit to Melbourne Tiffin Room with family was a delightful culinary experience. The food was absolutely incredible—each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and tasted amazing. The serving sizes were generous, which was a definite plus. While the food and service were top-notch, the ambiance was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it lacked a certain wow factor and felt a bit plain. Despite this, the exceptional taste of the food more than made up for the average decor. If you're looking for fantastic Indian food with great portions and don't mind a simple dining atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out Melbourne Tiffin Room. The food truly speaks for itself. Dont forget to try Filter coffee

Cant recommend this place enough! The restaurant team is very friendly and are always happy to chat. The service is quick and they can recommend you food. You dont have to wait a long time to get your food - very quick and tasty food! We love their Masala Puri which takes you back to the streets of bangalore. We also love their chow chow bath (Specially the Kesari bath which is always so tasty) and leaves you wanting to eat more. They make all types of dosa. We tried their masala dosa and Neer dosa. Would recommend to any south indian who is missing indian food!
